The 2012-13 hunting season hast started off very slow for me. Moving to south Alabama (and I mean deep south) has proven to be detrimental to my whitetail pursuits. I have spent a total of about six hours in a tree stand as of this post (the picture above is from the first hunt), which is way below my usual yearly quota. I am trying to learn the WMA's in my area (there are three), and keeping my eyes and ears open for a possible hunting lease for next year. For now I will have to rely on opportunities back in my home state of Mississippi with family and friends over holidays and maybe the occasional long weekend. Today is the Friday before Thanksgiving so I am looking forward to a long holiday week spent mostly in the woods somewhere. Hopefully I will have more to share in the coming days.
